Genesis 11 and Lucretius
Read this for me.
Hopi understood the warning label, a graphic depiction of fingers removed between the gurney, and wondered why the giant, with a freshly cleaned eye could not see it for himself.
So the return to pictures, to tell the story.
Is that what this is?
But it is true
Yes, it is
Icons, pictograms, your people struggle so hard to communicate through your differences. The hieroglyphs return to tell the story.
I think it’s for safety reasons.
Babel cannot be built without making its name.
Yet you have been completed, you are far taller than the most ambitions plans of She-nar.
Yes, but the universe has expanded since then, heaven is high above me now. Once the heavens reigned just past the moon, the planets thought celestial guardians revolving around the earth. The solar system was defined 400 years ago, the heavens pushed past, accumulation theory, quantum mechanics, yet farther past. The universe as infinitely expanding. Where has heaven gone? You have your god, but you've displaced his kingdom.
God has become too large for me to place within a kingdom
You say these words; the farthest blink of the most powerful telescope cannot define the infinite size of this god, yet the tower of Babel still rises. It's long since surpassing steel and concrete.
Where am I?
You are still reaching for the heavens. You children of the stars, whose every atom, along with my own, once the center of a star, believe with all your soul that you will return. When really you will only continue to expand and eject though space. Infinite. There is no return just expansion. God displaced the unity of Bable's people, just has science has questioned the unity of heaven.
The Universe is not bounded in any direction. If it were, it would necessarily have a limit somewhere. But clearly a thing cannot have a limit unless there is something outside to limit it. ...In all dimensions alike, on this side or that, upward or downward through the universe, there is no end. -Lucretius
