tonight we took the bus cross town and watched the east and west, upper folk walk the streets with lit candles, they seemed afraid to let them be extinguished, like it was a responsibility to keep them lit. like a prize gold fish at a fair. The dispersed candle light vigil made me a bit quieter tonight.
Good for you for praying,
I am not to that point yet.
I feel like I am still pushing emotions trying to figure out what I feel. The people on the streets seem light years ahead. Tonight I saw a stranger light another man's cigarette. Imagine that!
Then we went to the old man bar, the local bar after work, they had food there and posted photos of missing firemen and CNN on the television. A man, an Israeli who fled to NY to escape the violence in his homeland took a drag off his cigarette and said, "welcome to my world", there were F-15 fighter jets circling the parameters of Manhattan all day. Welcome he said.
